There have been several eye-catchers over the past week or so that need to be kept on side for future engagements over the coming weeks.

GOD OF THUNDER (Richard Hannon): This colts work suggests he’s a very well treated horse from a mark of 68 and although sure to go up a few pounds having been narrowly denied on Saturday the pair drew well clear of the rest and a similar handicap should be a formality for this lightly raced three-year old.

HEREDIA (Richard Hannon): Having pulled off a shoe after her race yesterday when running flat, she was worked up beforehand in the preliminaries and a line can be drawn through that effort. Her work has been superb and having won the Sandringham for us at Ascot (8/1 into 9/2) when landing a big touch, she’s one to take seriously.

PROTAGONIST (William Haggas): This ex-Jessica Harrington trained horse was a big eye-catcher on Saturday on his first run for his new yard. Having been blocked off several times when coming with a run, he’d have gone very close if it wasn’t for meeting so much trouble. Felt to be well treated, he’s one to be on wherever he goes next based on his recent work with far higher rated horses at home.
