As we gear up for a busy few weeks on the service with Ascot fast approaching, I’ve included three horses from over the past week or so that are well worth tracking for future engagements:
EXIMIOUS (Roger Varian) – Given the smooth headway this filly made on her seasonal reappearence at Newbury, it wasn’t a surprise that she traded as short as 1.33 in running before just failing to reel in what was clearly a fit rival. Connections remain confident her mark of 87 is a very workable one and she’s a horse to keep on side over the coming weeks.
LADY PINK ROSE (Karl Burke) – The Karl Burke stable have made an excellent start to the season with their two-year old’s with some proper Ascot contenders yet again and this daughter of Showcasing showed plenty of speed first time out at Catterick before being caught close home having done too much too soon. She shows bags of speed in her work at home and although she won’t be heading to the Queen Mary at Ascot as was hoped, she’ll be shortlist material for a similar maiden in the near future.
ELITE STATUS (Karl Burke) – Another from the Burke yard that has now done the job twice for us and he heads the market as things stand for the Norfolk at Ascot on the 22nd of June. He’s already the yard’s idea of their banker of the week and he’ll be worth supporting on the Thursday of Ascot with the likelihood his price will ease out on the day.
